The relationship between Anton Chekhov and Olga Knipper is one of the most extraordinary love stories in the history of theater. Chekhov wished for woman who "ike the moon, won't appear in my sky every day". Olga Knipper was such a woman. Due to Chekhov's illness and Knipper's busy theater life, their relationship consisted for the most part of an almost daily correspondence.

The players will reconstruct through words and music the atmosphere of Russia at the turn of the century, in which timeless topics such as love, artistry, illness and loss will be addressed.

A special and heartbreaking correspondence, musically expressed with works by César Cui, Tchaikovsky, Prokofiev, Glasunov and Rachmaninov.
You will hear excerpts from the correspondence between Anton Chekhov and Olga Knipper,
(translation: Anne Stoffel, edited by the actors). The scene played is from Chekhov's Uncle Wanja (translation: Yolanda Bloemen and Marja Wiebes). This concert has no intermission!
